Sarah Jordan, BSW, MSW, LCSW-A

Bachelor of Social Work - Master of Social Work - Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate

Hi, I’m Sarah. I’m so glad you’re here.

Taking that first step to reach out — even just to read this — is something to be proud of. Whether you’re feeling lost, overwhelmed, or simply ready for a change, I want you to know you’re not alone. Therapy isn’t about having it all together — it’s about finding a space where you can let your guard down, be honest, and start to breathe again.

At Homestead Healing, I want you to feel safe, supported, and understood. Everything you share stays right here — safe in the vault. This is your space to show up as you are and begin the process of healing and rediscovery.

My Approach to Therapy

I believe therapy should feel human, warm, and collaborative. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are — whether that’s in the middle of chaos, grief, anxiety, or simply the messiness of life. Together, we’ll work on understanding your emotions, building healthy coping tools, and finding meaning in the experiences that have shaped you.

I love incorporating creativity, play, art, and movement into sessions, especially with children and teens. Allowing ourselves to be creative and even a little silly can help in more ways than you know. Healing doesn’t always have to happen through serious conversations — sometimes it’s through laughter, art, or even a dance break.

Therapy isn’t about fixing what’s broken — it’s about nurturing what’s already within you.

A Little About Me — Beyond the Therapy Room

When I’m not in session, you’ll usually find me doing something creative or finding ways to bring a little joy into the everyday. I also teach dance, and it’s something I’m genuinely passionate about — I love helping people express themselves and feel connected through movement and confidence.

My favorite animal is a cow (so don’t be surprised if you see a few cow-themed touches around my office), and I find peace in the small, simple moments — a good playlist, laughter with friends, and slow mornings with a beautiful view.

Life at home is a blend of comfort and a little bit of chaos — filled with love, laughter, spontaneous projects, and the kind of everyday moments that keep things interesting. Even during the harder seasons, I believe there’s always room for light, warmth, and play.

I describe myself as a “Type C” person — not Type A or Type B, but a mix of both. I love a good spreadsheet or well-organized list, but I also appreciate the beauty of just winging it sometimes. My world can get a little wild here and there, but I think that’s part of what makes life meaningful, fun, and full of character.

Education & Experience

I received both my Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work degrees from Appalachian State University. My passion for working with children and families truly took shape during my internships with the Ashe County School System, where I supported students facing emotional, academic, and social challenges. It was there that I learned just how powerful connection, consistency, and safe support can be — especially for kids who need someone in their corner. These experiences strengthened my belief in the importance of meeting each person exactly where they are and tailoring the approach to fit their world, not the other way around.

Today, I provide therapy for children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, identity and confidence struggles, and big transitions at home, school, or work. No matter who walks into the room, my goal is to help them feel safe, supported, and capable of growing into the strongest version of themselves.

Why I Do This Work

I know what it’s like to feel weighed down by emotions you can’t quite name, to wonder if things will ever feel normal again. That’s why I do this work — to remind people that healing is possible, and that asking for help doesn’t mean you’re broken. It means you’re human.

If you’re reading this, you’ve already taken an incredible step. Together, we can create a space where you can feel, grow, and begin to find your footing again.

“Together, we can create space for healing, hope, and rediscovery.”
